If you have finally decided to buy your kids a puppy, you need to do some planning in advance. Are your floors at home carpeted? Then you will have to prepare for more than a few unpleasant surprises, especially if your dog is not yet trained to live indoors.
While most people see their pets as cuddly, fluffy bundles of joy, professional carpet cleaners associate them with one of the most challenging tasks: removing urine stains. Pet owners have a hard time choosing the right type of detergent for the job, which leads to neglect, poor results, and long-lasting bad smells at home.
What to look for when choosing a pet urine-removing detergent?
There are two ways to approach the problem – mechanically removing the stain (the way you will address a coffee or wine spillage) and dissolving the stain residue. Only the latter will produce the required results. Therefore, you need a solvent that will react with the accumulated urine within the fibres and dissolve them on a molecular level, thus ultimately making them very easy to remove.
The only detergents that can do that are biodegradable ones. If the product you pick at the home maintenance department in the supermarket does not have a “biodegradable” marker on its label, don’t even consider buying it!
